"The Orris D. Brown Film Collection"

This film collection consists of approximately (20) 400' rolls of 16mm black & white acetate film from the early 30's thru the 40's.  Below are some of the footage titles that have been catalogued.
 

1936-1939 This footage is the most elaborate of its kind and has been shown at The San Jacinto Monument during The Battle of San Jacinto's sesquicentennial celebration. This short clip consists of the ground breaking, construction at different phases, the dedication ceremony and centennial celebration ceremony of the Battle of San Jacinto. This footage was specially prepared for the Monument with San Jacinto Savings as a sponsor and is only a sample of the footage of this reel. 1934 The only movie footage known to exist of Sam Houston's Personal Slave "Uncle Jeff Hamilton" in Huntsville at the Houston residence.  
1935 1935 Flood of Houston that shows houses floating down Buffalo Bayou, downtown under 10 feet of water, many many segments to this footage.  
1930's FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt and Jesse H. Jones come to Houston disembarking from the train, parade down main street, Presidential motorcade & more...
